From the President: Gale Hankel
Here we are at the start of another season. With this our first newsletter of the season, I am hoping that this finds you all in good health and looking forward to returning to beautiful Puerto Vallarta, if you are not already here. Summer is not a quiet season for the Club as you will see by another article herein. The work goes on, the checks are still written for our on-going programs. I want to personally thank these people here and now that make this happen, THANK YOU ALL.
Our first General Meeting will be November 14th, at 7:30 P.M. at the Clubhouse. I hope to see all of you that are here to attend. The Clubhouse office hours are 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday thru Friday.
HOME TOURS: Susan Austin has agreed to chair the Home Tour operation, and I hope that many of you will come forward and give her a helping hand in this vital mainstay of our club.
Speaking of Chairpersons I am looking for a Social Director - come on all of you that have attended Club social functions in the past and had a great time - let’s don't let this slide by.   I do have names that will be willing to help with this task.
Thanks to Norm Clark, our website is up and running, since Zonavirtual who was our server, closed their doors without warning. We hope to have everything up and running in a short period of time. You will find our website and e-mail address elsewhere on this page. Once again, Welcome back to paradise!
2000 EDUCATION
COMMITTEE PROJECTS
Jimmie Ellis, Education

Throughout the year 2000, the Education Committee members have been active on many fronts. Over the winter and spring months, the group charged with making classroom purchases in specified schools (Kindergarten & Primary schools at Boca de Tomatlan, 12 de Octubre, El Progresso, Jollas de Pedregal, Magisterio & Las Brisas) worked hand-in-hand with the local school Directors and teachers under the direction of Brian & Dawn Blevings. We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to them and to their team - Sheri Alter, Dick & Cheryl Dobbeck, Judy Galeana, Al & Yvonne Ward and to former Club member Myra Fumerton who has returned to her hometown of Tijuana.  In total, the group invested some 50,000 pesos in classrooms needs.

BAZAAR 2000
The time has arrived to give special tribute to one of the consistently hardworking and devoted members of the team that coordinates our annual Bazaar namely,  - “Silent Auctioneer” MARISE ROLNICK.
For the past several years she has contributed hours of time and never ending energy to help steer and coordinate with Marcy Kengott, the collection of items for the Bazaar Boutique.  However, for the 1999 and 2000 Bazaar she created the new Auction department, and through her growing rapport with businesses in the city collected items that generated a substantial revenue to the success of this and last years events.
Thank you again, Marise;  we hope you will continue to bring your expertise and generosity of time and ideas to the benefit of the Club’s charities.
