This is an "early-bird" request for any kind of goods for our to-be February 2003 Bazaar.  If you have any room in your luggage for small items such as jewelry, clothing, etc. (or perhaps if driving more items), please do remember us.  We did find another bodega for storing things while we build up our supply for the annual event.

Think of us, too, when you get back and start cleaning your closets and take general inventory of other things that you enjoyed last season, but plan to discard this year.  We're easy to reach and we can arrange a pickup or tell you where we have a drop-off.

Thanks for anything you can contribute.

It's always a pleasant task to list our newest members.  Here are those nice folks who joined since our last newsletter in April:  WELCOME TO YOU ALL, AND WE HOPE YOU'LL ALERT US WHEN YOU RETURN.

Jimmy Blair Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco
Jim & Judy Farris Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco
Dorothy Findlay & Jack Kuepfer New Milford, NJ
Michaeline Lutz Northglenn, CO
Karl McKinney Scottsdale, AZ

and location correction for:

Kathleen Dobet  LaCruz de Huanacaxtle, Mexico

We hope that Luis and Rosali Pollen who stopped by the office for a visit will join us at the Nov. 12 meeting.

A REMINDER:  The Marriott CasaMagna VIP Cards for it's preferred customers are awaiting your pickup at the Clubhouse desk.  Discount cards are also there for pickup (20% discount) for the Karpathos restaurant.  Note, too the other restaurants offering a discount to members with the presentation of their membership cards.  (It is suggested that presentation of the card should be shown to the waiter before ordering to avoid any confusion.)  This discount program is ongoing; please remember to ask for the sign-up letter to be presented to the restaurant owner/manager.  One copy is retained, the other signed copy is returned to the Clubhouse.

In our last newsletter we mentioned the Golf World Cup Tournament scheduled here in December.  We were alerted to the fact that the organizer for volunteers was seeking a total of 600 people willing to donate their time in various functions during the tournament with the possibility of gaining a donation for their particular local charity.  (Whether we will see any funds,of course, is not assured.)  There are some of our members who got word

through other than the IFC channel and were accepted; others who volunteered initially through the IFC have already been confirmed as accepted.  Unfortunately, the only other slot open is the "standby" list.  Contact me if you wish to be included on that list.

Keep in mind, too, that your assistance in our ongoing activities is also required.  We will be looking to you and your talents for a helping hand.  Be there for us and the community.

And, lest we forget...

"Much has been done, but more remains to do."(Lord Byron)

"The best way to forget your problems is to help someone with theirs." (Graham's Pronouncement...")

"Advice--those who want it the most, always like it the least."  (Lord Chesterfield, ltr. 1748)

"Always speak the truth and you'll never be concerned with your memory." (Carolyn Coats)

"Faulty ideas create faulty experience." and "What is worth doing is worth the trouble of asking somebody to do it." (Unknown)

Hasta que nos veamos (Until we meet again...)

(P.S.--Membership renewal time is approaching...)

Our gate's unlatched and the Welcoming Committee is smiling and awaiting your arrival.   October is the "awakening" month when so many of you migrate back to the sparkle of the Puerto Vallarta sun and beaches and ocean breezes and the excitement that begets the joy of residing in this community.  We who have made the discovery are truly blessed.  For those of you who will be arriving later--please hurry!

While most of you have been gone during these months (usually from June through September) the Club's administrative functions continue, although somewhat curtailed, but activity will erupt with the first Board Meeting on Monday, November 11 and the following day's General Meeting of Members, Tuesday, Nov. 12 (doors open at 6:45 pm, allowing time for renewing acquaintances) and the business meeting begins at 7:30 pm.  (Members are welcome to join us at the Board meetings as observers--startup at 10 a.m.--and can present any petitions or suggestions at that time for consideration.  Your input is valuable and always appreciated.)

You will all be hearing more from our Telephone and Welcoming Committee Chair, Gila Badner, and her team about myriad events and activities you will want to take advantage of and perhaps invite friends to join you.

Also to those of you who receive messages by email, be on the lookout for information of interest that will be coming your way from the Clubhouse; and take advantage of contacting us by email whenever the need arises.  We value any feedback and information you may have that can be of interest to the members.

With your backing and participation we can achieve the goals we have committed ourselves to achieve again this year.  We can do it and we will do it!  Plan to be there to accomplish it all!

Don't forget, too, to invite your friends to join you for one of our club meetings.  You and they will discover there are many others like you who are seeking compatible new acquaintances in this community.  Ask other members how their lives here were enriched through an IFC membership.  You'll be pleasantly surprised.
