TREASURERS
REPORT Allan Badner Tel: 222-1563 email: badner@pvnet.com.mx
I am pleased to report that our finances as of February 28 are in excellent shape. We have as of this date about 597,753 pesos in the bank, which is enough to keep us in a comfortable balance. Home tour revenues are coming in neck and neck with last years net totals to date. As of February 28th we have deposited the following:
As of February 28th we have paid out the following:
Please note that we are now reporting Cookbook Sales as net, which means that we deduct the actual cost for each book from the sale amount. We have an inventory amount in our assets that is reduced as we post the net sales to reflect the value of cookbooks on hand. We are also reporting the Home Tour Income on a net basis that means that we deduct the operational costs from this item *We have spent LESS than we have taken in so far this year, however, the bulk of our revenue comes in January, February and March and we will no doubt end up in a small surplus plus reserve funds to carry us through the summer months. You must also keep in mind that we went into this year with a surplus of about 400,000 pesos, which we budgeted to spend this year, and we hope to do just that. We also spent $170,000 up front for the new cookbooks. I am very pleased to welcome Ted Will who is doing a great job as our new Facilities Chairman and Marion Hansen who has taken on the Social Chairperson.

MEMBERSHIP Yvonne Ward Tel. 228-0050 Email: yvonneal@pvnet.com.mx We're flying high and having a wonderful time with all of our activities. If you haven't ventured out in one of them, you're missing a lot of fun and excitement. Bored? Then come on over and put in your two cents on what you'd like to do and then let's do it! You are always welcome at our Board meetings, which also include our Committee Chair persons--Education, Cookbooks (we need help here), Membership, Newsletter, Medical, Community Services, Home Tours, Facilities, and Social. If you would like to present a proposal for consideration of the membership, call the Clubhouse or email the President. You will be given time on the Board agenda. Your suggestions are sincerely welcomed. We need new ideas to act upon. Our cheerful clubhouse needs more activity. Is there any group out there who would like to share our facility? Please call us at 222-5466. Visit us: Hours: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm daily, Monday through Friday. Our Social Director, Marion Hansen, has proposed a luncheon outing for members who'd be interested in getting together at a not well-known, but excellent restaurant at the Marina's Mayan Palace. The date would be set for possibly the week of March 9 or 16. If the Mayan Palace is chosen, the cost would be $10-$11 US with a 2-choice entrée, plus soup, salad, dessert. She is also investigating a second option in the city. If interested, please call Kirsten at the Clubhouse. MONTHLY GENERAL MEETING: Tuesday, March 11: ELECTION OF OFFICERS. You'll also be rewarded with information on topics for your benefit as well as others. Please be there.MEMBERSHIP: Renewals are still coming in; some members have been traveling and should return shortly. In the meantime, we are privileged to have more new members to welcome.
Thank you for your interest in our pursuits. The anticipated Bazaar is now history but much good came about as a result of long-time resident Carolyn Chambers, who produced the film, "Puerto Vallarta Squeeze" in its entirety here in PV. Her contribution of things used in the production went a long way toward the monetary success of the event. She, through her financial officer for the film and IFC life-time member, Ted Pentecost, gave us access to these wares. Of the many items, one was most unusual and did not appear at the Bazaar--a huge antique crucifix. It was decided that this would best be suited for a needy church. It was presented to the Santa Cruz church here in the city. (We'll all be looking for the release of "Puerto Vallarta Squeeze" sometime in the fall this year.) And, we can't leave without a few gems of wisdom...(Authors Unknown.) "Friendship should not be thought of as something we get; it is something we give." "The future is that time when you'll wish you'd done what you aren't doing now." "It is easy to be critical. The real test is to come up with constructive alternatives."
