The Thank you Column….. Once again the donations have been rolling in. Muchas Gracias a todos! Generous cash donations were received this month from Barabara Hemrick of Atlanta, GA, member Ruth Miller of Ottawa, Ontario, and Mark T. Sanders of Modesto, CA. Special thanks to Robert B. McLaughlin of Rockford, IL for his very generous annual cash donation. Lots of great school supplies were donated by Wayne and Margaret Hanson (a whole suitcase full of goodies—Thanks!) of Chicago, IL, Marjorie Manhardt of New York, NY, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Moor of St. Clair, MI, and Elaine Skirka of New York, NY. Thanks go out again to member Donald Sullivan for recruiting his children to bring down a large supply of English readers and teaching materials during their vacation to Puerto Vallarta. These materials have been donated to the English teachers at our Public Library. |
Our Medical Chairperson was thrilled to receive Albert and Barbara Shening’s, of Elgin, IL, donation of medical supplies. They brought down school supplies as well. Thanks Albert and Barbara! And finally, a huge thank you to Dr. Gill Cullen of Pikesville, MD, Joseph Williams, DDS of Stevenson, MD and Dr. Judy Burch of Stevenson, MD for bringing us a huge amount of dental supplies. We should also mention that Dr. Burch personally donated 1,500 toothbrushes. We hope to organize a dental hygiene education day at a few of our local schools and provide the children with their own toothbrushes and toothpaste from this generous donation. Thanks again!
