WHERE HAVE SOME OF YOU BEEN?

We’ve missed you at the last meeting. Remember, our monthly gathering is the second Tuesday of each month starting as early as October and running as late as May if enough of our “high” season members are in residence. Election and budget time is upon us and your presence is vita. The Club is you - you are It. Be at the upcoming meetings - voice your opinion on the important issues - give us your input. Don’t forget, you are also welcome at Board meetings held at 10 am on the first Monday of each month. Come visit and bring any petitions or just sit and listen. Many of you have experience in the areas that will be under discussion, and a great number of you have been and still are involved in similar organizations elsewhere. It would indeed be a rare occasion if all members were in agreement on every issue. Intelligent discussion and various opinions are what lead to an acceptable conclusion. Let’s work together and make us a stronger and more effective group using our energies to provide the Puerto Vallarta community as much assistance as we are able.

Our annual Bazaar is an example of what solidarity can accomplish. If you weren’t able to join in the fun this year, think of doing something next season. Besides the two days of setup and the sale day, there are preparatory things that need more hands. As we approach that time in 2002 we’ll be calling on you again. Please say “yes”.

Membership recruiters have indeed been busy and your efforts have brought us another group of new members who we want to get to know well. (Let’s see if some of you might be unknowing neighbors.) WELCOME to you and thank you for your interest in what we do.

Coming Events… Tuesday March 3, the Ladies Luncheon at the home of Donna & Gil Johnson should prove to be a delightful afternoon for all able to attend. The fare will be catered by Rueben’s Kaparthos Restaurant, and for entertainment the ladies will be seduced by some lovely fashions from Laura Lopez Boutique (@ 324 Basilio Badillo).

Tuesday March 20 - Come one, come all to our Pot-luck Membership Party at 7 pm at the Clubhouse. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know our new members and renew acquaintances. A special treat will be the marvelous XITULA Folkloric Dancers. See you there!

CALLING ALL MEMBERS WHO HAVEN’T YET RENEWED. We will be looking for you at the monthly meeting March 13. Please arrange to be there. You can also visit the Clubhouse between 10 am - 2 pm Monday thru Friday to pay your dues and pick up your member card. The card can be very important to you for the various discounts, too.

RESTAURANTS - This program is starting to emerge as a tremendous benefit for our members. Tell the owner or manager of your favorite restaurants about the IFC and our new program of advertising restaurants to our membership who offer us a dining discount. We have a prepared letter in both Spanish and English explain the procedure. Please pick up one or more at the club desk. Go get ’em!

And, here are more words of wisdom to ponder…

“An admission of error is a sign of strength rather than weakness.”

And,

“Hate is a prolonged manner of emotional and spiritual suicide.”

And,

“The man who believes he can do something is probably right, and so is the man who believes he can’t.”

- Things your mother always told you but you didn’t want to hear.

Hasta que nos veamos (until we meet again…)
