BAZAAR 2001 - A Suberb Event!

Yvonne Ward, for the Committee

Bazaar Steering Committee: Dick Beck, Gale Hankel, Esther Jonson, Shirley Moffat, Evelyn Pine, Marise Rolnick, Onita VanAmburg, Al Ward, Yvonne Ward

We did it before, but WE DID IT BETTER THAN EVER THIS TIME! The Club and Bazaar Steering Committee are proud to congratulate all of our members and friends who participated in the A to Z setup, sale and cleanup of this humongous annual event. Like a construction team building a tent city, you experienced “Bazaarers” put it all together Saturday in record time ready to open the doors at 9 am Sunday morning. You’ll all agree there was an obvious camaraderie and fun was experienced by all, plus the satisfaction of being involved in a project specifically for the benefit of our community. Our wish, too, is that all of our customers enjoyed themselves and went home pleased with their “treasures”.

We acknowledge all of you here: If, however, your name has been omitted, it is not intentional. The setup time is hectic and some members were quickly assigned or reassigned to fill a void,

and someone’s name might not be listed. If that is the case, please do let us hear from you.

And, we can never thank Pierre Champagne enough for his ever willing help - he never seems to tire and is everywhere offering assistance. Thanks, too, to Beverly Rose who again came in her clown costume to entertain the children, and to Sandy Baker who brought two of her crew to assist with the heavy work, and Antonia Contin who brought one of her caretakers. Roger, Betty and Ann Neff, Greg Koski and Mark Kahila were also there on Saturday to assist with the setup. We especially appreciate and thank Bill Anderson, Don & Boo Balster and Mel Mitchell for coming to our aid to load and transport goods from the warehouse to the school on Saturday - what would we do without your help! Some members were unable to join us due to illness or unexpected events; we appreciate your good intentions and hope circumstances will be different next year.

The donors of goods are the lifeline for a successful bazaar. Without your generous donations we could not stage this event for the community. (We also want to thank Hank Moffat and Conrad Kostelecky for their annual donation of chicken for our laborers.) Please keep this event and us in mind throughout the year. Your support and kindness to our cause is sincerely appreciated. Many, many thanks again to everyone for your dedication and support.

See you all again - same time some place next year!

One tired little Bazaar shopper!
