SOCIAL HOSPITALITY There will be a potluck prior to the Jan. 13th meeting. For Wednesday, February 11th we are planning a Valentine party fundraiser. Anyone who would like to be on the Social/Hospitality Committee, please come to the January meeting 1/2 hour early. |
MEMBERSHIP Put that smile back on your face--if you didn't get it quite right in 2003--you can try again, and do it better now in New Year 2004. Our resolutions perhaps could be: Do more for those you care for, reach out and add some new friends to your circle, reach out to others less fortunate than us, be kind to all, be patient, and share your good fortune with those around us who ask for our assistance. We've done it before and we can do it again! Let's turn on our thinking mode and formulate some new ideas for Club pursuits. With the combined experiences of our members, we should be able to develop other possible arenas to pursue. Give us your thoughts on how we might improve and strengthen our cause. We know with your help, we as a team can accomplish great things. Stand up and be counted--we'll support you! By the time you receive this, the Board will already have pursued and decided on the increase of dues for the year; anyone joining or renewing before January 1, 2004 paid the former dues of $20 US for singles, or $30 US for couples. However, for too many years, without any dues increase, even though costs have been going up, and up, we have held stead; that can't continue. So, at the next General Meeting (second Tuesday), you will be paying the new dues rate. (Membership runs from calendar year January l through December 31.) (If you choose to pay your dues before January l, please stop by the Clubhouse (see Valeska from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm). Many thanks. Here's a welcome to our New Year's 2004 recruits. We are fortunate to have with us…

TREASURERS REPORT We are now well into our new season. As of NOVEMBER 30, 2003 our accounts show as follows:
Our program commitments have been paid up to date. We also paid out the $90,000 we kept back from Becas until when they achieved their tax status. Our income so far is only $44,819 as our revenue producing Home Tours has only started in late November. It should be noted that I record income from Home Tours as NET with the costs deducted. Our Administrative Costs so far this year is $98,141 and our Program Disbursements so far this year is $364,486 plus $90,000 paid out to Becas. We are meeting all our obligations. All in all, we are starting the new season in financial good shape.
