TREASURER’S REPORT – GENERAL MEETING - DECEMBER 16, 2002

Again, I am pleased to report that our finances as of December 16th are in good shape although I am anxiously awaiting revenue. We have today about $155,000 pesos in the bank, which is enough to keep us in a comfortable balance until our revenue stream comes on full bore in January. Home tour revenues started coming in two weeks ago and indicates that there are still tourists coming to PV in spite of Kenna and the economy. We are watching the Home Tour sales carefully as it is our lifeline.

As of December 16 we have deposited the following:

Cookbook Sales Gross to date 7,340
Donations 12,000
Membership Dues 12,100
Home Tours Gross Inc. 111,208
Bank Interest 3,234

TOTAL INCOME SINCE JUNE 1  $145,882

Total Income is up about $6,000 pesos over the same time last year. Our cookbook sales are down about $8,000 and our Home Tour sales are UP about $14,000.

As of December 16 we have paid out the following:

Administrative Costs:  Accounting fees, Bodega Rent, Clubhouse Rent, and Espenses, Electricity & Phone, Office Salary, Office Supplies & Equipment, Taxes  112,350
Community Aid Distributions: R.I.S.E., Food Program and Rehab Program 60,000
Education Distributions:   Library Stipend and School Projects 38,000
Medical Program Distributions:   Cleft Palate Program, Cruz Roja, Patrocinio and Regional Hospital Stipend 224,000
Home Tour Expenses 34,881
Purchase of New Cookbooks to date 125,175

TOTAL PAID OUT SINCE JUNE 1  $594,405

DEFICIT TO DATE  $448,524

It should be noted that our Education Program under chairman Jimmy Ellis has not gotten underway yet and will start later in January when we have a better cash flow. We purchased new cookbooks, which will cost us $169,200 of which we have already paid out $125,175. This paid out amount will be put in Cookbook Inventory and adjusted monthly to reflect the Net Cookbook Sales.

All we need now is the necessary volunteers that are essential not only in our fund raising activities but also in helping us direct and distribute the money into the needs of the community. So, step up to the plate and become a team hitter.

HEY, HEY!  We've reached another summit in this century and are adding another digit to our lives. What an active year it's been.  No one bored here. December is the last month of the year allowing us the time to be thankful, to be merry, to be happy, and the time to be loving and giving--putting us in a generous spirit to be carried over into the coming year. And so, here we are--2003!

We have had two meetings so far this season and were pleased to see so many long-time members and especially the new faces of friends introduced to the Club.  Do introduce more of your friends and acquaintances to us--tell them what we do and how we  function.  At one time we were all new to the community not only as tourists and part-time residents, but also as full-time residents.  Then, lo and behold someone told us about the International Friendship Club (Club Internacional de la Amistad) and opened up a whole new vista for us here.  Not only did we meet wonderful people from various parts of the world, but made many lasting friendships.  (Join us and you'll never be bored with life here.  Satisfaction guaranteed!)

NEXT MEETING:  Tuesday, January l4.  Bring some guests--let's have another pot luck, too; gives us more of an opportunity to renew acquaintances and introduce new members.  Watch your emails and we'll also be calling you with reminders.  (Bring a guest!  There's always room for more.) Doors open at 6:00 pm.)

ANNUAL DUES:  The IFC Board has decreed for simplification purposes that memberships will now be renewable each calendar year--January l through Decembet 31.  Be prepared to renew when next we meet, or whenever it's convenient for you to stop by the Club.  For those of you out of the country, you can renew via mail by sending your check to Inter'l. Friendship Club, APDO Postal 604, C.P. 48300, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico.  (Do not place the zip code after the word Mexico, or it will go astray.)

(Note:  If dues are paid by check you must add another $5 US, to either the Single ($20 US) or the Couples ($30 US)--the bank charge for cashing the check.  Also, if you want to receive the NEWSLETTER by mail, the increase in postage now requires us to charge you an additional $5 US.  (You can, of course, read the NEWSLETTER on our Website:  www.pvmexico.com, or pick up your copy whenever at the clubhouse.)

REMEMBER Members, we're always here for you.  Are you new in the neighborhood, got any questions on the rights or wrongs of things, need to find out where to go for something special, etc., etc.?  One of our members might have the answer or can refer you to someone who might.  Don't hesitate to ask!

LET'S NOW WELCOME OUR NEWEST MEMBERS:  How nice to have you with us!
