FROM THE PRESIDENT Mary Wichie for Gale Hankel Tel. 224-3097
I n the absence of the President, Gale Hankel, I have been asked to write this report.
Our December 11th General Meeting followed a delightful potluck supper. The cooks really outdid themselves in preparing a variety of delicious dishes. We had about 45 people attending.
Kitty Leonard, our Corresponding Secretary, graciously consented to take the minutes because Linda Bennie, our Recording Secretary had to resign for health reasons. Kitty also offered to be our Recording Secretary.
Our guest speakers, Don Powell, who explained the Rice and Beans Program, and Dottie Townsand, who filled us in on the activities of the Red Cross, both of which we help fund, were well received.
We have a new Social Chairman, Pamela Hyland. She’ll need helpers for this very important job. It’s a fun committee on which to work, so call the club at 222-5466 and volunteer, or call Pamela directly at 044-322-278-3661 on her cell phone.
We still need volunteers for Chairpersons for Publicity, Community Service, Facilities, and the Newsletter. The Newsletter is a big added job for Kirsten. In order to get it out on time, she needs help. If you can’t chair the Newsletter, please consider spending some time at the Club House helping answer the phone, or doing some other time-consuming chores so Kirsten can concentrate on getting the bulletin out on time.
There will be Happy Hour (drinks on the house) from 6:30 – 7:30 prior to the next General Meeting, January 8th. Hope to see you there!
Our President Gale Hankel will be back in town on Christmas morning.

BAZAAR 2001 Yvonne Ward, Chair Tel: 22-80050 Fax 22-80458 Email: Yvonneal@pvnet.com.mx Our Bazaar sale date is confirmed: Sunday, February 17, 2002 (Setup will be Saturday, February 16, with some help needed for an hour or two on Friday, February 15, to bring in supplies from the Clubhouse to the school site. We'll be calling on some of you for assistance).
WHAT WE NEED NOW? Goods, goods, goods--Bring on your disposals--right after the holidays, you should have to make room for the gifts you've received--clear out the old and put in the new! We'll take whatever it is--no matter how small or how big—old, ancient, broken, cracked, torn, patched, appliances--if not working perhaps can be fixed--old tires, mattresses, linens, books, jewelry, stoves, refrigerators, furniture, CD's, tapes, VCRs, radios, TVs and ad infinitum... But you might also have some new items stored away gathering dust on a shelf, long forgotten—maybe, that could be just right for our Silent Auction department.
Call me for directions on where to deliver your castoffs--or, if too big to handle, we will arrange for a pickup. This is a great time to cast off the old and make room for the new in the spirit of giving to our community. The Bazaar is a fun experience for everyone involved--the buyers and us, the sellers. Let's have another grand time of it.
Remember to remind your friends and neighbors in your condos, and anyone who might be coming to visit--perhaps they have small items that can be stuffed in their luggage. Babies and children's clothes are usually the first items to be sold--school supplies are also in great need here. Use your imagination--we need everything you can give. Thanks in advance for keeping this event in mind year after year. You, the donors, are the source for our happy buyers, and provide some added funds for the many worthy causes that the Club pursues.
