Our Club de la Amistad is continuing to do good things for the community of Puerto Vallarta, thanks again to our committees and their volunteers. I want to say, to all of you new members, to please come forward and get involved with some of the many projects we are doing. I know that there is much talent out there among you, that can be put to the cause of our Club. Please let those talents be known when you fill out your membership (renewal) form, as we are trying to fill all those categories mentioned.
It is not too early to start thinking about our up-coming elections in March. I am making a plea now for some of you to contact myself or Annie at the Club office to put together the election committee. It is time, (remember how fast that 2001 came upon us?)
"Pot of Gold" What a great success! Our thanks goes to Leon Rolnick, for coming up with and handling our newest fun drawing. As all of you that were at our General Assembly meeting know, he was selling raffle tickets at $10.00 pesos each or 6 for $50.00 pesos. You signed your name to your ticket and put it in a jar and there would be a drawing of which the winner would get half of the pesos taken in and the Club would get the other half. His sales took in $1900.00 pesos. At the end of the meeting we held the drawing for the winning ticket holder. The winning ticket holder's drawn was Shirley Logan who received $950 pesos. She accepted

only $800 pesos and donated the other $150 back to the Club. Thank you Shirley.
I thought our Pot Luck dinner before our meeting was a great feast. Everyone seemed to enjoy such good fixins from all our members. Speaking of this, we still do not have a Social/Hospitality person or persons, please let me hear from someone for this position.
We are continuing to get calls from people coming to this Paradise on their vacation, and they will pack an extra bag with items which they give to our Club for distribution to the needy of Puerto Vallarta. I want to thank these people now, and you think about this when you come down. We are sorry for this Newsletter being late, but with the great Holiday Season here in Puerto Vallarta, we all know how things go. Or did anyone hear of Mexican time? |

The Cleft Palate annual presentation to members will take place at the Clubhouse on Tuesday 30 January, 7:30 - 9:30 pm. Cocktails will be served and we need volunteers to bring hors-d’oevres. Please phone Annie at the Clubhouse if you can bring or send food. There will be several short term jobs available for volunteering. Please contact Patricia 223-0132 if you can help out.
Attending this presentation will be leading members of the medical community, the surgical team that performs these miracles, the local press and also patients who have received this surgery and their families. Come and see how you generous donations are used, please show that we care. |
