EDUCATION REPORT

The month of January has been very busy. December was also... Here is what your Education committee has done....First of all, the IFC has assisted financially in constructing 2 schools, one in Progresso ll and another in Los Volcanes, remote areas of PV... and also a bathroom in Los Volcanes... such a nice thing we do!!

Also went to Cabos Corriente , way outside of El Tuito and visited many schools, some needing more classrooms and others needing bathrooms, and school supplies... we are going to take care of those needs immediately.

Went again to Cabos Corriente, with Gila Badner, Barb, the Millers, Selina and Bob, the marvelous duo that make schools that are drab and ugly, happy and cheerful with their love, artistry, time and donated monies....And also Selina's parents , the Goldbergs from Ottowa....And the reception we all received from students, teachers and city officials were heart rendering..

IFC is helping with mortar and cement, bathrooms and school supplies...to help these very happy and smiling children be great students with a future. Also, Selina and Bob brought along large school bells to be hung outside the classrooms.... we have loads of pictures to show the effect that had on all the children and administration..

Met with Mayor Villesenor's wife, Gloria, the president of DIF and Rosario Monroy, the administrator of DIF along with Francisco Landin, our IFC untiring helpful hand and translator... to learn that many of the things we do at IFC are not known by the local Mexican population or city officials...and that they were amazed by all the good things IFC does, besides Education....
They have many needs at DIF with many programs that need funding, since the Federal Government does not fund them here... like family planning parental awareness, and financial aid for students that can't afford school supplies and proper clothing...They have asked to be at a IFC meeting to make a presentation of what they do and what needs there are in the community, with a question and answer session afterwards...

Also Selina and Bob would love to show the IFC members a slide presentation of the things they do...and the positive effect it has made...

There is so much more happy things to tell, but will have to wait for another time.

THE TIME IS NOW TO START ELIMINATING THOSE THINGS OF NO MORE USE TO YOU--but will be to others. What have you? Please call us. We'll cart it all away for you.

And yes, you, too, will be able to scour the scene and buy those treasures you can't leave without.

We're waiting! Thanks for anything you can provide.

Our Sympathy

Jean Becker, beloved wife of Bill Becker, and her many friends and members, died in December while at home in Baltimore. Bill is expecting to visit Puerto Vallarta within the next several weeks at which time a memorial service will be held. We extend our sincere sympathy to bill and their family.
