TOYS FOR TOTS Felicidades to all! The results are mostly in, and we exceeded our going-in goal of raising $30,000 U.S. for toys for tots this year. Combined with other toy donations, we distributed more than 7,000 toys on January 6th! This was up from only 4,000 toys last year. So we all had to work a little harder than last year with the distribution, but were able to spread 3,000 additional smiles! Many thanks to the distribution volunteers from the IFC, Marriott, American School, Mexican Navy, Coldwell Banker, and a few other groups.

R.I.S.E. ORPHANAGE
R.I.S.E. FOR HOPE ANNUAL
FUNDRAISER Once again, get ready for a spectacular event to be held again at CASA ISABEL (one of Vallarta's most stunning villas) located at 483 Del Bosque, Colonia Alta Vista. We now have confirmed 21 restaurants who are donating the food and all the beverage companies have come on board. Tickets are available at the clubhouse at a cost of $350 pesos each for all the food and beverages. The event includes this year manydoor prizes, "Dig for a Diamond", "Wheel of Fortune", "Raffel" for a one week's stay at Casa Isabel for 4 people, luxurious 2 bedroom Villa, and "Silent Auction". Music will be performed through out the event by Katmandu as well as Marcos (a recognized violinist from Santa Barbara and other venues). The event is from 4pm to 8pm. Please join us for this special party to benefit the children of REFUGIO INFANTIL SANTA ESPERANZA. WE NEED YOU HELP You all know that Valeska Guerrero is our new office administrator. She is originally from Chile via Victoria BC and is fluent in Spanish and English. She is married to Basil Abuid, a local Chiropractor, and has a young daughter, Atalya. Kirsten spent a month with Valeska preparing her for the job, however with the season beginning, she is kept very busy trying to learn the new job and keep up with it’s ongoing duties. It would be a great help, if we can get some members to volunteer to man the front desk for two hours once a week, perhaps from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM or as it may suit you. You would be required to answer the phone, handle visitors and members questions, membership matters etc. thus allowing Valeska to catch up on her duties. We got about six volunteers at our last General Meeting, but could use a few more to spread the load. You are urged to phone Valeska at the office at 222-5466 and volunteer for a shift at the time of your convenience. You will find it a rewarding and pleasant experience.
