TREASURERS
REPORT Allan Badner E-mail: badner@pvnet.com.mx Being the treasurer of the IFC is not as difficult or onerous as it has been depicted. Kirsten issues all the checks and makes all the deposits and I only have to oversee. She furnishes me with a list of the checks issued and deposits made regularly so that I can make the appropriate entry into our computer accounting system, which is Quicken. This is done by email whether it is in PV or at home in Canada. I have electronic access to our bank and so I can download our bank statement and reconcile our accounts at the end of each month. I then can print up to date financial reports, update and control cash flow requirements and prepare our next years’ budget on time. It is really a piece of cake but an essential function to keep our Club operating in a fiscally responsible manner. Our total income as of this date this year is $315,037 pesos, which is about $15,000 pesos less than last year at this same date. Our Home Tour revenues are actually up about $7,000 but our Cookbook Sales are down substantially which can be explained by a late start and the fact that moneys have not been turned in as yet. Our Administrative costs to date are about $139,500, which is down about $20,000 from the same period last year. Our program spending is on budget: Community Aid at $82,000; Education at $48,000 and Medical at $230,459. Our finances are all in good shape. |
MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS: Ladies and Gentlemen this is another reminder that membership renewals will now be based on the calendar year (January l through December 31). If you can't renew in person, please send your check to our mailing address. (Add $5 US to the membership fee--$30 US for a couple, $20 US for a single--the additional cost for cashing a check by the bank here. Also add $5 US if you want your Newsletter mailed to you (it's also available on our website), due to the increased cost of postage. (Of course, you can always pay in pesos.) It's always a pleasure to WELCOME new members--and the number is continually growing. HELLO THERE! And thank you for becoming one of us. We will be looking for you at our General Meetings and at some of our ongoing projects.
Welcome back: Toy Holstein & Maury Minzer and Annette SuttonWe just got word that help is needed at our Home Tours on Wednesday and/or Thursday of each week. This is a prime IFC project and is the main support for our charity programs. Please ask about how you can help--it's an enjoyable way to do "volunteer" work and exposes you to many of our members first-hand, plus the pleasure of meeting tourists from around the world. Don't be shy--raise your hands--WE NEED YOU! HERE'S SOMETHING THAT MIGHT BE OF HELP...(Authors "Unknown"): Remember the banana--when it left the bunch, it got skinned Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you’re scared. SO, PITCH IN AND LET'S GET STARTED!
