Thank you Mary Wichie for taking care of business, in my absence in December 2001. Likewise at our January General Assembly meeting, we had a very good turnout of some 68 to 70 people. This is what we are all striving for, to get more of you involved in our Club and its projects.

I do have an Election Committee Chairperson, Leon Rolnick I am very happy to say, and he has a committee formed. So I am sure that when our Election of Officers rolls around on March 12th (which all of you should attend) they will have a complete slate of good qualified persons.

And speaking of March 12^th (General Assembly Meeting) I have asked the American Consulate (Kelly Trainor) and the Canadian Consulate (Lynn Benoit) to attend our meeting for a Question and Answer period. I’m sure that some of you have questions, which will be valuable for others in our Club who may not have thought to ask, so be sure everyone, to come out for that meeting.

I want to thank Pamela Hyland for getting right in and filling the Social Calendar for our Club. Good Job Pamela.

The mailing of our Newsletter from here at the Post office is getting rather expensive, now that the price of postage has gone up here in Mexico. So any of you that could read it online at our website: www.pvmexico.com- please let Kirsten know, as I know she is working very hard at getting it posted as soon as possible after publication.

I’m also glad to see that we are getting more restaurants that offer Club Members (by showing their current membership card) a discount. Pick up a restaurant sign up sheet and get your favorite restaurant to sign up and bring the sheet to the office so we may have it on file and add them to our Newsletter. FEBRUARY 17 (Sunday) is the SALE DAY--and SATURDAY, February 16 is our SETUP AND ORGANIZATION DAY.  By the time you read this, assignments will have been made (If you want to work but haven't been contacted, please give me a call).

Call, fax or email me for any goods you have prior to Thursday, February 14 (you can also call the Club at 222-5466).  For late donors, you can deliver your goods to us at the time of our setup, Saturday, February 16, from 9 am to 12 noon at the school (Lazaro Cardenas del Rio), gate entrance on Basillo Badillo (at Olas Altas).

This event will be as successful as you are generous with your donations and help. 

A reminder--as in the past, members will only be allowed to purchase books and those items in the Silent Auction booth.
