IFC News February 2001 Pg. 1

FROM THE

PRESIDENT

Well here it is February 2001. Thanks to the many volunteers our Club de la Amistad is continuing it's projects throughout the community in Puerto Vallarta.

Mary, Tom, Dave & Iva distributing school supplies

I want to thank the people who raised their hands at our January General Assembly to be on the Election Committee. I appointed Bill Becker chairperson. Read on in this newsletter to see the results of their committee meetings.

This past January, my wife and I joined Tom and Mary Wichie and Dave Bennie to deliver some of the many school supplies which have been generously donated by members and non-members and transported here by caring individuals. What a sight it was to see the children all line up very orderly to receive their pencils and crayons etc.

Mark your calendar for another lecture by Dr. Peter Boyd-Bowman to be held on Feb 12th at the Molina de Agua

Hotel. Details will be in flyers distributed around town.

AND THE WINNER IS: Roger Vogt, who generously donated back to the Club his part of the winning's in our "Pot of Gold" drawing.

POTLUCK: It was brought up at our January Assembly that many people in attendance wanted to have a social gathering no meeting attached at the Clubhouse. The date will be March 20th at 6:00 pm. Please contact Annette at the Clubhouse if you plan to attend so we can have some idea of how many tables to set up.

TREASURERS REPORT

Sharon Eggers 221-5442

Home tours are doing better than last year. Cookbook sales have tripled. Donations have doubled. Memberships are as budgeted. These improvements are enough to give us a solid revenue base and to carry us through the summer months. The Budget Committee will be meeting in the next few weeks to put together the 2001-2002 proposed budget. Most likely there will not be any dramatic changes, but the Board will review each and every program to justify continued funding. Anyone who has input should give me or Al Ward a call.

ELECTION COMMITTEE

Members Murray Beers, Shirley Logan, Leon Rolnick and Irma Willis have presented the following slate.

President: Gale Hankel
Vice President: Mary Wichie
Treasurer: Al Badner
Corr. Secretary: Kitty Leonard
