FROM THE PRESIDENT Al Ward Tel. 223-2591 or 228-0050 E-mail: yvonneal@pvnet.com.mx
As your new president, I was very pleased with the attendance of our members (both old and new) and your interaction in the club business discussions. By belonging to the IFC, I believe our new members will become enlightened to the involvement that is required to support the work that we all do to aid those less fortunate individuals in this community. Our contribution to those in Puerto Vallarta that cry out for help is a way of saying "thanks" for the opportunity of allowing us to live here in a tropical paradise. Those members who participate in the various programs of the IFC know well the gratitude of those receiving the benefits of our labor. When you see the warmth in their friendly smiles and acknowledgments, you are inspired to undertake even more avenues toward relief for the burdens they carry. The challenge of maintaining and expanding our programs of assistance are in our hands; we need not only those presently doing their share (and in many cases toiling with little or no assistance) but more involvement by others with even a minimum of free time. To you new members who now permanently reside in Puerto Vallarta (or those on the 6-month, high season residence) why don't you talk to Yvonne Ward about offering some of your free time here to join us in our endeavours. We still need a Facilities Director (not difficult), plus other interesting spots on committees--no one person has to do it all. Lend us a hand, you'll enjoy yourself. We now have a Secretary (to replace Evelyn Clark who had to resign due to the necessity to be out of the country for a year), and are pleased to announce that Sudy Coy (also involved with the RISE orphanage) has taken on the responsibility. Also, John Powell, a 6-month resident, is an expert at the computer and has opted for the NEWSLETTER Committee function and will be able to relieve our office computer of that monthly production. Thank you sincerely for your help, Sudy and John. Our Home Tours began November 20 and 21 and expectations are high for another exceptional season. Thanks to all of our willing tour workers. You are to be commended for your devotion to this program which is the mainstay for all we do.

As I mentioned at the meeting we anticipate having more social functions during the season. We have lost our last season's Social Chairperson, Pamela Hyland, who will not be back until possibly March, but will have some assistance from Kirsten , and Lettie Connell, plus others still to come. Soon we will have information on the Copper Canyon trip and the monarch butterflies expedition. Let us make our predecessors proud of us by carrying on their traditions of working for the betterment of the community and the self-satisfaction of enhancing people's lives by helping them overcome some, at least, of the obstacles facing them daily. |

TREASURERS REPORT Allan Badner Tel. 222-1563 E-mail: badner@pvnet.com.mx Another year has passed and we are embarking once again on a new year of making a difference to the needs of the people of Puerto Vallarta and its environs. Although we have had very little income over the summer, we have met all our expenses and obligations including the $170,000 (peso) purchase of a new edition of our wonderful cookbooks. We are right on our budget. We are dependent on our major sources of income, that is Home Tours and to a lesser extent cookbooks. Our Home Tours started November 20 and so far we have matched last year in customers. So far, it appears that Kenna has not affected us. If there are no home tour posters in your area, pick up some at the office and have them posted. We need volunteers to help us raise our funds and to assist in administering our programs. Step up to the plate by calling Kirsten at our office at 222-5466 and getting on to the team. I would like to thank Kirsten who throughout the summer administered our program funding and kept me continuously updated by email.
