MEMBERSHIP Yvonne Ward Tel: 22-80050 Fax: 22-80458 Email: Yvonneal@pvnet.com.mx With cheery greetings, smiles and happy hearts we've been hearing from you members out there by phone, fax, email and greeting many of you early "returnees" to our bright and thriving coastal city. November launched the holiday season and activities sparkled with Mexico's Independence Day, the Gourmet Festival, fishing and golf tournaments and charitable functions, and exciting December is on a roll. Where do we go from here? Those of you who were energetic enough to come to our meeting last week know that we are anxious to firm up our ambitious plans for this season's work. The grand budget is set and we now look to delve into the work of building up our nest egg to sustain our charitable giving and with joint effort on the part of members and increase our coffers to benefit those in need. The cost to us comes down to a mere question--ask yourself "What can I do to help?" How much would it "cost" you? Only the ability to say "yes"--"I'll give you so many hours today or tomorrow, etc. Yes, I can adjust my personal schedule to help in that task." Be generous with your time--that's all we will ask of you--you'll still have the time to sit on your terrace, the beach, swim, visit your athletic club, lunch, play cards, party. When asked to help, do say that "yes"--I'LL TRY IT AND SEE IF IT'S FOR ME--if not, perhaps I'll try another project. Always remember, you are not only participating to help others, but you will see how good you will feel about yourself.
Our next meeting is the second Tuesday--December 10--it will be a potluck gathering. Come early--6 PM--to set up the food and have a leisurely visit with other members. Also take the time to renew memberships--same as last year--$200 Pesos for a single/$300 Pesos for a couple. (We have a colorful membership card now - for those who renewed but did not get the new card, please see me for a replacement.)
You'll also want to show your cards when you take advantage of the discounts at the various restaurants offering them to members (See the boxed list of those participating on pg 7.) The Marriott Hotel is also providing VIP cards offering members a discount on various facilities within the hotel.
Another important activity to us is our social function. Ladies we call to you for assistance. What would you like to see more of? Luncheons? Fashion Shows? Etc. We need a few of you willing to get together to formulate your plans and put them into action. Give me a call and we can get started--you won't be alone and it will be an experience worthy of the effort (The last luncheon brought out 65 ladies!). |

Our apologies to Matt Lepo not “Lepol” and Dr. Patty Boone rather than “Boon.” Thanks to those of you who have brought this to our attention.
A very busy year is planned, but our overall success relies on the assistance of you all. Be there for us, but above all be there for yourself. Think of it this way: We must do it, we can do it, AND WE WILL DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE OUR GOALS.
Always remember, you are not alone, but think about this, too...
