Our "mini" Bazaar held at the Colonia Caloso Park, Sunday, March 7, was a new experience for all of us, but it worked, didn't it.  As in the past, when we put out a call for help that would be needed, there are always so many of you who are willing to take on the challenge and roll up your sleeves. Our modus operandi for this bazaar was entirely different from the huge events of previous years.  Then donations were gathered throughout the year and stored--furniture, mattresses, appliances, televisions, etc., etc-- for the bazaar usually held in February.  Our main goal over the years and on March 7 was to provide a "fun" affair for the local residents, at a very minimum cost. We achieved that, and you can be proud of your efforts.

We now need to officially thank all of you participants; for it was you that made it happen and be such a success.  Sudy Coy, our Recording Secretary, is to be thanked for sharing her experience about the bazaar she directed at the park, and directing us in the requirements for the necessary license.  We also appreciate the help of Brenda Martin and Pam Thompson (who stood in a long line to get the paperwork finalized).  And, our ever- patient Dick Beck who always manufactures our ID badges, many thanks.

We also especially thank those who donated their time prior to March 7 to come to the clubhouse to sort goods and pre-price the merchandise stored there to expedite setup at the park site:  Susan Schebel, Earl Jones, Doug Coulter, Illiana, Pam Thompson, and Ted Will.  Also those who did the same for things stored at our Villas Loma Linda offices:  Again Susan Schebel, Joan Wirsh, Connie Fauber, Corinne Law, Onita Van Amburg with volunteer help from Silvia Leyva, Pat and Kiel.

On the sidelines too, Marise Rolnick and Ann Anea were setting up the paperwork and pricing items for the Silent Auction, which with the added items donated by Ann, proved to be a very worthy contribution.  Thank you ladies.

Sunday morning the transportation of goods from the clubhouse at 6:30 am (tables, chairs, merchandise and needed equipment) were handled by vehicles brought in by Sandy Baker (from Nyarit), Pam Thompson and a 3-man crew, Jim McFarlane, Al Ward, Doug Coulter and Ted Will.  Transport of goods from Villas Loma Linda was directed by Susan Schebel and Earl Jones with their vehicles, plus that of Nancy Bowen.  And, awaiting all of them at the park site was our Good Samaritan, Dennis Readerman and his family, and Fred Forbes, plus others there at 7:00 am..  What dedication, without you we would have been lost; we are grateful.

Our thanks to the rest of you who also flooded the area to set up the "booth" areas, putting everything in its proper category, to make it all work smoothly.  Besides all of the above, we had (in alpha order):  Rebecca ArceAllan and Gila BadnerMilly and Murray Beer, Pat and Richard Bendix, Barbara and Mel Bornstein, Al Burrows, Joe Callahan, Mary Lynn Coulter, Sudy Coy, Sharon Eggers, Connie Fauber, Bob Flury, Karen Guthrie, Gale and Iva HankelCorrine Law, Muriel Leblond, Lisa Love, Angus and Mandy MacLeay, Maury and Toy Mintzer, Grace and Ignacio Montenegro, Lori Northrup, Lynda Petty, Bill Platzer, Rhoda and Will Rossmore, Susan Schebel, Elly and Walter Schoustal, Larry and Norma Schuh, Luc Vleelacker, Roger Vogt, Norm Yellowlees.

We can't forget our "bankers"--Bud and Carolyn Palmer who have always managed to allot just enough change for each booth and be there for any money help; then collecting and counting.  They always make it seem so easy.  What would we have done without you.  Many thanks.

Please forgive any oversight if you were a participant and are not listed above.  There were some who signed up but were unable to attend; others came unexpected and were not on the original worker list.  If you worked and are not included here, please let me know and we will make the correction in the next issue.

By 11 am it was over--everything sold and the cleanup began.  All (tables, chairs, bags, equipment, etc.) was quickly loaded in the same transport group's vehicles and taken back to the clubhouse by Sandy Baker, Al and I, Ted Will, Jim McFarlane, with the help of Bud Coulter.  It was 12:30 pm when we locked the clubhouse and said adios to what just might be our last bazaar.  You did good, gals and guys!
