I would like to remind those of you who so kindly collect supplies, that we can always use wheelchairs. We also need the folding stroller type with big wheels for children with cerebral palsy. We are collecting colorful children’s books in Spanish to use in the Cleft Palate Childrens’ speech therapy groups. And finally, Moises, one of our Cleft Palate patients has been taken under the wing of his tutor, Lulu Rodriguez. The IFC will be assisting Lulu with the of the costs of caring for Moises and collecting clothing for him. Please drop off at the IFC clubhouse any clothes and shoes appropriate for a young boy of 10 years. |

MEMBERSHIP Yvonne Ward Tel: 22-80050 Fax: 22-80458 Email: yvonneal@pvnet.com.mx Another season of Club events--both business and social--is slowing down to bring to a close our monthly meetings, the fund-raising home tours and weekly get-togethers at the clubhouse for numerous activities. Many of you are packing as we write, checking airline schedules or highway routes to other locales for a change of residence, and some of you have already departed. But, we do expect your return! And, while some of you will be away during the summer season, others of us will continue the course the IFC has set for itself as a crusader for charity here in Puerto Vallarta. Our job does not stop because so many of our dedicated members will not be present for a few months--there is still follow-up work that has to be done and some projects brought to conclusion. Those of us here will not be bored. While away, you might think about how you could make your mark as a volunteer for perhaps only an hour or two a week on a project that interests you especially. It can't hurt you, and more than likely you'll have a feeling of accomplishment and pride for having applied your knowledge and energy on behalf of others well being. Keep thinking about that. Many of you are aware that the World Cup Golf Tournament has picked Puerto Vallarta's newest golf courses--the Nicolaus and Weiskoff--as the site for this immense event, perhaps as many as 8,000-10,000 people will be in attendance. It is possible that some proceeds from this event will be donated to local charities--and the IFC would be very proud to be one of them. THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD Tuesday, Dec. 10 to Sunday, Dec. 15. There is a need for a great number of volunteers to help with the various work activities connected with this event. IF THE IFC CAN GET 70 OF ITS MEMBERS TO VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME FOR THE CONCESSIONS AND POSSIBLY ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVITIES, we would be considered eligible for donated funds. I am already gathering names of members and friends who will donate their time. PLEASE EMAIL ME TO SAY THAT YOU WILL BE ONE OF THE 70!
