IFC ANNUAL BUS TOUR
Ivan Applegate explaining the DIVAC facilities to IFC members. |
TREASURERS REPORT
Allan Badner email: abadner@attcanada.ca As your new treasurer, I would first like to thank Sharon Eggers for her many years of good service to IFC and wish her well in future endeavors. Sharon turned over the books to me in mid March and I am pleased to report that everything was posted, up to date and reconciled. Thank you, Sharon for making my job transition very easy indeed. I am also pleased to report that as of my accounting to March 31, 2001, the club finances are in excellent shape and we can proceed with making a difference to the people in need in Puerto Vallarta. Our income for the fiscal year is in excess of our budget while our expenses are on target. Congratulations must go to those hard working volunteers who run the Home Tours headed by Irma Willis and Susan Austin. Our cookbook sales have surpassed all previous years under the direction of Linda Bennie and Kitty Leonard. Special thanks must go to Yvonne Ward and hubby Al who are the backbone of the very successful Bazaar. If that was not enough, Yvonne increased the membership dues by at least $15,000. The effort of all our members has been gratifying. The following is an estimate for our current year ending May 31, 2001.
Special thank yous’ must also go those hard working volunteers who complete our ultimate purpose by putting our money to work in our many community programs. Patricia Mendez and Joann Quickstad have again done an outstanding job in administering our Medical programs. Jimmy Ellis and Tom Wichie have done great work with the outlying schools.
As you see, we actually ended up with a surplus of about $481,000. $200,000 will be kept as a reserve fund and the remainder will be applied to special projects in our new budget. It should not exist and will be spent judiciously. Annie and I will be in close contact (electronically that is) during the summer to keep our club financially in good control. |
