| FROM
THE PRESIDENT
Gale Hankel Tel. 225-1177 April Newsletter and how time flies. Our General Assembly Meeting on March 13, was well attended as this was our Election of Officers for the Club. I want to thank the Election Committee as I think they did a wonderful job in selecting Mary Wichie as our newly elected Vice President, and Al Badner as our newly elected Treasurer. Welcome Mary and Al. I also want to thank our outgoing Vice President, Alfonso Ward for all of his support in this past year. Not enough of thanks to be said to Sharon Eggers for her two years doing a super job as our Treasurer. We have had our transitional meeting and I must say that we the last years Board Members (myself, Linda Bennie, and Kitty Leonard} are looking forward to working with these New Board Members. However to fill out the remaining appointed Board Members, I am looking for: FACILITIES, SOCIAL/HOSPITALITY, PUBLICITY, AND FUNDRAISING, chair persons. Come on you new and old members give me a call. Our Potluck Social held March 20 with the Xitula Folkloric Dancers was really enjoyed by all in attendance. These dancers show how they, and their dedicated parents, are doing good things for all of Vallarta, tourists and locals alike. Many of you will be going away for the summer so have a safe and wonderful time while away from Puerto Vallarta and I will be looking forward to your return. And lastly for those of you who will be still with us in April, don’t forget our April 11 General Meeting at 7:30pm

MEDICAL COMMITTEE REPORT Patricia Mendez 223-1032 pasoancho@hotmail.com We had a tour of the Regional Hospital on Tuesday 27th March and 27 people got a closer look at the improvements made and needs still to be addressed. One of the many things we need which would be easy enough for all of us to help with would be mattress covers - quilted cotton mattress covers with elastic corners. They help the sheets to stay tucked in and greatly increase the comfort of the patient who lies in that bed. So, if everyone would remember to go to the local thrift store and buy 2 mattress pads or covers and put them in their suitcase when they come down to PV again. Now, wouldn’t that be nice! |
