Welcome to our New Century!
And, away we go!!!
How fortunate we all are to be experiencing the entry into the millennium,
and the surprises and wonders it will bring; what marvels are awaiting
us. How exciting it will be to witness creations previously only
identified with science fiction, as we have already come to expect from
those that have become a reality.
Trends will also come and
go; some will linger longer but then will fade into the past and
be forgotten… but one that will always be with us is Friendship.
People need people and people form friendships, and these kinds of people
(us) gather together as the International Friendship Club and spread out
hands in friendships to others. Remember us as a group when
you’re gathered socially with friends and strangers—preach the word—what
we do within the community for the underprivileged and the satisfaction
that can be reaped through participation. (We work to achieve good
works, but we also have fun. Ask them to come and investigate us
at our next General Meeting, January 11, a Potluck starting about 6:00
pm with a meeting following at 7:30 pm. It will indeed be great if
you all came by for a visit.)
Which reminds me… IT’S
RENEWAL TIME for most of us! See me at our Membership desk
outside the front door for you application (need a new one from everyone),
plus, of course, $200 pesos for a single, and $300 pesos for a couple.
Take your time and PLEASE FILL IN THE COMMITTEE AND TALENT SECTIONS (don’t
be shy about displaying your know-hows—sometime you, too, may need the
assistance of someone—and, blood type is also important here, if you don’t
know yours, you should find out.) Thanks in advance for your help in bringing
our records up to date.
TELEPHONE DIRECTORY:
The copy containing the latest entries of changes and new member phones
will be ready for distribution to those who need a copy at the General
Meeting, January 11. Please note, however, that the numbers will
be listed without the PV city prefix “22”. (A notation will be made
at the top of the page reminding all to use the prefix “22” proceeding
the 5 digit telephone number. For example: my phone number
is 80050, Fax 80458, simply add 22 in front of the 5 digits. The
prefix is not 228; the number 8 is part of my private number, 22 is a new
city code.) Make it easy on yourselves and remember your friends 5 digit
numbers; just add 22—(hyphen) automatically when dialing.

If you haven’t received your
membership card, pick it up at the membership desk at our next General
Meeting, January 11, and, bring a friend or two…
Until we meet again, here
are a few well thought out comments to keep in mind…
“An argument seldom proves
anything, except that two people differ.” and,
“It is surprising how
often good sense and good luck go hand in hand.” and,
“A friend is a present
which you give yourself”
R. L. Stevenson
So, be generous with your
“presents” to yourself… (by me)
Hasta que nos veamos
(until we meet again).
